Our movie pick for April is 1975’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. When Randle Patrick McMurphy (Jack Nicholson) gets transferred for evaluation from a prison farm to a mental institution, he assumes it will be a less restrictive environment. But the martinet Nurse Ratched (Louise Fletcher) runs the psychiatric ward with an iron fist, keeping her patients cowed through abuse, medication and sessions of electroconvulsive therapy. The battle of wills between the rebellious McMurphy and the inflexible Ratched soon affects all the ward's patients.
Film Folks is a casual group for any movie lover! We meet the 2nd Thursday of the month at 7 PM. Watch the movie ahead of time and then we’ll all gather at the brewery to share our opinions and answer some discussion questions together. (Like a book club, but with movies instead of books!) There is no attendance requirements, cost to participate, and no purchase necessary. Just come hang out with some fellow movie fans. Check in with the bar when you arrive and they will point you in the direction of the group. Because we want to best facilitate easy discussion and connection, there will likely be several different small tables for film group and not one big one. Our advice? Pick the table where you know the least people and make some new film friends!
